Book Club Read

SHARP SHOOTER by NADIA GORDON
Read this book for ALHAMBRA LIBRARY for the book club that they have there. My first read on a mystery novel but a wine mystery novel. I've read mystery novels before but not a wine one. Story line located in WINE COUNTRY in NAPA VALLEY. Will say this was a terrific read, enjoyed reading it.
Sunny McCoskey
A true friend at heart and soul. If you are a friend of hers she will back you up and protect and help you out if you are in trouble. She does exactly this for one of her friends Wade who happens to be charged with murdering  Jack Beroni, the son of a well named wine family. Sunny has her own bakery place where people come to talk about what is going on in town. She is not married but does have men who are interested in her.
Rivka 
She works for Sunny but is also a friend a best friend of hers. She helps Sunny when she needs helping and in this novel she does come to the aid of Sunny. She is dating a family member who used to own the farm that Beroni now owns.
Wade Skord
Neighbor to the Beroni's and number one suspect in the murder of Jack Beroni. Everyone in town knows that Wade and Jack do not get along at all and have been some fights between the two. But when he lands in jail, it is up to Sunny to save her friend and to prove that he is indeed innocent of any charges.
Steve Harvey
The local police officer who is in charge of the murder investigation and who Sunny goes to for information on the case. Knows Sunny and at one point feels like she is getting to close to the case .
Again this was a great read for my first in wine mystery novels. From the beginning to the end  kept me at the edge of my seat. Just reading this it felt like I was there in NAPA seeing this beautiful place, tasting the wine and eating the foods that are made in here. The only thing I wish was in here would have been the recipes from the foods that Sunny made because they did sound pretty good when reading this.

Julianne Balmain is an author of numerous books; mystery, sex, and children's books. Having just been introduced to her by the book club I am in, the book which we had read was SHARPSHOOTER (NAPA VALLEY SERIES) by author Nadia Gordon, same author just using a different name. After reading this book, I wanted to read more or her works. With such a good book for my first murder mystery, wanted to find out more about her and what books she has published. She is very versatile in her field-mystery book, sex books, children's books, and she is also a copywriter working with APPLE, KODAK, AVON, and others.  She is a California girl, her mystery novels show that and look forward to reading her books all of  them. After each read I will post my review of what I had just read, which, then hope to hear from others who have also read her books and hear what they think of her books.

Happy Day School

Have you ever been to a school as a child and still remember the good times you had as a child? Well for me I do and they were good times to. This school in Monterey Park, California is one special school in my heart my second family for me. This is where I went to school when younger and til this day still there as an instructor for swimming lessons and water ballet. Once you come and start you never leave your treated from the start like family. I should know because this is where I started my school years basically in preschool and came for summer camp which have to say is the best part and still have so many fond memories of my friends and fun activites and the field trips we would go on. But now heck I wish I was still a kid each summer is a different theme with different field trips to match thoes themes.
